Welcome to Specimen Hunters!

Specimenhunters is a website devoted to people who pursue specimen fish.  Although not all of the fish featured are necessarily that large, they have all been targeted (possibly in the pursuit of larger ones!)

The fishing covered is mainly based in Cambridgeshire, particularly around the Fens.  In Cambridgeshire there is a huge amount of fishing available from the trout and pike in Graffam to chub in small streams.  There are also a wide range of waters with general coarse fishing and some of the largest fish in the country residing in specialist carp and catfish venues.  

The fishing that the fens itself is most famous for is probably the predator fishing, with the fen drains offering some of the best predator fishing in the country.  There are pike, zander and perch present in all of the main drains and most of the smaller land drains.  These fish grow to specimen sizes and are pursued by some of the most enthusiastic predator anglers in the country - With many people travelling large distances to fish for the pike and zander of the fen drains.  The drains can also be fished by boat which opens up some exciting and memorable options for those who want to go afloat in pursuit of specimen predatory fish.
