IMG_0010Saffron Walden Angling club have the rights to a pit on the edge of Mepal.  The pit is reed lined, quite deep and has a line of reed across it about a third of the way aolng the lake.

This lake is very popular with carp anglers as it allows night fishing, has fish to a good size and is relatively cheap to join.

The lake also holds some nice tench, a large head of roach and some reasonable pike.

The lake tends to be heavily fished at weekends through the summer, with it being quite slow at times, but most fish caught now are of a nice average size.
