Willowcroft used to be a small venue on Garden Lane near Wisbech St. Mary. It has since closed down, but been replaced with a new venue between Wisbech st. Mary and Murrow. The main target for the specimen angler at the new willowcroft would be the 6 island lake. This lake holds a stock of large carp to over 40lb and a stock of catfish to over 40lbs.
The carp in the lake are all micro chipped which means that they can easily be tracked in terms of growth.
There is also a large head of catfish in the lake. Catfish are probably some of the best fighting fish around and willowcroft is one of very few venues that where catching a catfish is relatively straightforward.
Another surprise in the lake is that it holds a number of Albino Grass carp, which are basically a pink grass carp! These go to high double figures and are normally quite lively on the bank!
Willowcroft is a great venue if you want to catch some big fish. It is however not a cheap place to fish as a 24 hour ticket will cost £35 for 3 rods, although a discounted membership scheme is available.
The Venues website is http://www.willowcroftfishfarmandfisheries.co.uk/
Where they have a gallery of some of the fish caught from 6 island and contact details etc.
